One other option that this rifle has is the Badger Ordnance Embedded Front Rail (EFR) which is used for mounting a forward mounted Universal Night Sight (UNS). As a comparison the 300 Win has 3500 ft/lb muzzle energy while the 338 Lapua has 4350 ft/lb of muzzle energy, either one inside of a couple hundred yards will punch through ballistic glass but you must also take into account the bullets used which for both rounds are HPBT match bullets that are not designed for hard target penetration. The quality of the glass is better, and the overall ruggedness is also superior.
